Digital Conversion Lab
The Digital Conversion Lab’s intended use is the preservation of local and family history through the ability to convert outdated formats to digital.
June 1, 2015 marked the opening of the Digital Conversation Lab located in the upper level behind the staff circulation desk. The library is able to schedule your time in advance for 3 hour increments. A manual with instructions is available in addition to limited staff help. With this equipment, patrons will be able to do the following:
- Upload images from the scanner, and photos and images from 35mm film or slides from the Ion Pics2SD scanner
- Edit photos and images with Adobe Photoshop Elements
- Convert VHS tapes to DVD format
- Convert cassette tapes to digital format
- Convert vinyl records to digital format
Please thank members of the Emmet County Board of Supervisors for the availability of this equipment. They approved Local Option Sales Tax funding to make this project
possible.
